Kitch-en Gallery re-launch
What: The re-launch of Kitch-en Gallery. Our brand new website and new line-up of artists.
When: Thursday 4th March - Saturday 6th March (possibility this may be extended)
Private View: Thursday 4th March 6-9pm (with an after show party til late TBC)
Where: An empty shop unit (including a really spooky underground vault), 18-20 Ridley Place, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 8JN (2 mins walk from Haymarket Metro station)
More Details:
Yes you heard right, Kitch-en is back - just like the Terminator said he would be.
We may have been away for a little bit but rest assured we've not been lazing about on some private beach with palm trees and gorgeous sunshine (we wish). Nope we've been attending to a few family matters - you know those things that cry and be sick all the time.
During our 'time off' we had a chance to search high and low across the country, and the world, for a brand new line-up of artists. We've hand picked a fine selection of illustrators, graffiti artists, graphic designer, photographers, doodlers and vinyl toy makers and now its very nearly time to take off the virtual dust sheets and reveal all.
On Thursday 4th March 2010 at 6pm inside a disused shop unit in Newcastle (and in the virtual world of www dots all around the world) Kitch-en Gallery will officially re-launch. A new website, new artists (and some of our old motley crew of course) and lots of entertainment to see through the night.
On the night there will be a specially curated exhibition of Limited Edition Prints, Originals and Vinyl Toys from the likes of Ben the Illustrator, Phlegm, Craww, Alexander James, Joel Millerchip, Matt JOnes aka Lunartik, Mr Arteest, Jessie Douglas, Gonduras Jitomirsky, Myne, Jam Factory, European Animal and maybe a few more but they're top secret for now.
We'll also have some live graffiti (proper freestyle spraypainty stuff) by the ever so marvellous Ghetto Method Collective. Mudfoot Blaps will be on the ones and twos bringing you funky sounding delights for your ears and we've heard a whisper that legendary North East breakdancers, Bad Taste Cru will be making an appearance. Who knows they might even bust a move or two...
So if you want to witness the spectacle of our re-launch and you want to find our more, including the secret bits we're not going to tell you about until nearer the time, the only way is to be friends with us on Facebook, and keep checking out our blog.

Alexander James @ Art Mosh - Paris
Our very own Alexander James exhibited a selection of his amazing photography with some of the freshest talent around at the Art Mosh event in Paris back in November.
Check out this behind the scenes video from the show:

Here is an example of Alexanders work and I think you'll agree, the guy sure can use a camera.

Tea all around the country
We've heard that a certain Mr. JOnes is travelling the country (and world) drinking Tea. Oh... and he happens to have a number of wonderful customised 'Lunartiks in Cups of Tea' following him. Very pretty indeed. We liiiikkkkeee.
His next stop is Forbidden Planet in Bristol, if you happen to be lurking around in that part of the country and haven't been beaten by the snow be sure to pop along and check it out. And tell us how good it is in the comments below just to make us extra jealous cos we can't be there.

Rabbiting On
Here at Kitch-en we love innocent smoothies. I could add a list of the many reasons why we do, but there's no point cos there latest marketing campaign sums everything we love about them up.
They've recently launched a website (www.rabbiting-on.co.uk) that's been taken over by rabbits. You can ask the rabbits any question you like and they will answer it for you. We asked this:
